This week in nursery we have been busy learning about the rhyme ‘5 current buns’ and baking. We’ve discussed recipes, role played baking, discussed and investigated what bakers do, watched some clips of ‘The Great British Bake Off’, made real crispy cakes, counted out ingredients into bowls and had lots of fun!

This week we have been learning the rhyme ‘Row, row, row your boat’. We have role-played being in boats, sang the rhyme, counted people (counters) into boats and learned all about boats. Ask your child what an oar is?

This week in Nursery we have been learning all about Autumn and the rhyme ‘The Dingle Dangle scarecrow’. We have sang the song lots, learned how to sign it and pretended to be scarecrows in our PE lesson. We’ve been on an autumn walk and collected items for discussion in class. We’ve looked at leaves under our class visualizer and have learned about what the veins in leaves are for.

In Bee Active we have been singing the wheels on the bus. We rolled the tyres, wiped the windows with our foam wipers and cleaned the windows with the cloths. Oh what fun!

This week we have been learning about Buses. We’ve sang the wheels on the bus song and made our own big bus which we role played getting into and singing in. We have also learned how to sign the song in Makaton. We have played lots of games counting people into buses and have drawn the people in our family in buses too. We’ve discussed the different types of buses you get and some of the children have told us about their experiences of riding on buses to different destinations. We have a special person driving our bus – Can you spot who it is?
