Nursery

Yesterday we had a great ‘Rock Music’ assembly provided by our visitor Michael from Rock Steady Music. The whole school sang along to the music played for them and were taught about some of the instruments needed to be in a rock band. The children now know the difference between acoustic and electric instruments. 

We are all really looking forward to holding some music workshops with Rock Steady in the coming months and hopefully the children will be inspired to be in a real band!

The nursery children have been busy learning about the winter Olympics this week. They have enjoyed painting and colouring Olympic rings, watching videos of the different sporting events and recreating these in the tuff spot with the materials on offer. They have learned about where the winter Olympics is held this year and have focused on African athletes in readiness for our next topic after half term.

The nursery children enjoyed learning about Shrove Tuesday. They made pancakes and ate them up with lots of different toppings. Ask your child if they can remember what ingredients they needed to make a pancake.

This week in circle time we discussed how to stay safe when using the internet. Some of the things we talked about were not sharing our passwords except with our parents and how we must never talk to strangers when using our ipads.

The dinosaur fun has continued in nursery this week. We have learned all about fossils by reading about them, examining them and made our very own fossils out of salt dough.
