Today we have been practising our counting skills. We used jelly beans to represent amounts with objects. We pretended to be the little dinosaur in this weeks story and matched the amount of jelly beans to the number on our track.

This afternoon the nursery children have been practising their throwing and catching skills. They threw moon cheese up in the air and had to catch it when it fell back down from space. They also practised balancing the moon cheese on their head and trapping a moon rock (ball) with their feet.
Congratulations to this weeks Bee Active champion Karter!

The morning children were very excited to see that the dinosaur egg had hatched when they arrived at nursery today. Can your child remember what the dinosaur is called or tell you a feature of it?

A dinosaur came to Nursery!06-02-2017 | 14:25:53 | Comments Off on A dinosaur came to Nursery!

When the children arrived at school today they found that something had visited our classroom and left a large egg in the tuffspot. We watched a clip on the board where a dinosaur hatched out of an egg and decided that it must be a dinosaur egg in our classroom! The children listened to some facts about dinosaurs in this weeks book ‘I Love Dinosaurs’. Some children could already tell the class facts that they new. We spoke about meat eaters and plant eaters. Ask your child what a plant eater eats and see if they can name a feature of a plant eater.

Visit to the library02-02-2017 | 15:18:09 | Comments Off on Visit to the library

Every Thursday we go to the library to choose some books for our class that are linked to our topic.  We also get a book to take home each week.

Today Brian, the man who works a the library, read us his favourite story about Freda the Dog, we really enjoyed it.
