The Nursery children have been learning about Chinese New Year. They have learned that 2017 is ‘The Year of the Rooster’. They have role played using chopsticks, looked at images of china, made roosters out of junk modelling materials, written cards, role played giving gifts of money in envelopes, played with noodles and tried on traditional Chinese clothes.
Mr Lindblad visited the nursery today to talk to us and show us some real ‘Moon rocks’. The children really enjoyed looking at and describing the rocks and meteorites.
This week the nursery children have had a great time with their learning!
They have read the story ‘Dinosaurs Love Underpants’. Following this the children arrived at school to find the dinosaurs had visited the nursery and left underpants everywhere. They also left some frozen dinosaur eggs. The children had to work out how to crack them open to rescue the baby dinosaurs that were frozen inside. They loved investigating using salt and water.
Today in nursery we have been superheroes! The children have been practising their throwing and catching skills by throwing their capes up into the air and then catching them.
